Review: Life On The Road Chapter 1

This is a story my best friend is writing. It's weird at first but the next few chapters will make you love it. Anyways on to the review.

So we start off with some girl named Faith who is the main character. Anyways she's at an all girl slumber party... hold on we know where this is gonna go let me get my camera ready to record.. ok I'm ready on with the show. So anyways her arch nemesis gets invited to the party.. oh this is getting better... yes they're tying her to a chair this is perfect... wtf why are you guys chanting... she's not a turkey don't put oil on her.. feathers really?... why are you guys burning her eyes with spices. You guys are into sick stuff and need a life. So anyways something suspenseful happens after all that. If you want to know what it is go read it for yourself. Wattpad. http://w.tt/1n9e2HJ I give this chapter a 10 out of 10 cause it's got some good elements in it.

Interview #21: With Manda Cowled

So last month I think. I interviewed Manda Cowled. She's pretty awesome so after you read the interview check out her stuff :).

1: What got you interested in cosplay?

Manda Cowled: I actually got into cosplay through a combination of friends and Harley Quinn. I had ALWAYS loved Halloween, I intact wore my Simba costume almost everyday when I got home from school. Dressing up was just way too much fun, at one point I even thought about being an actor because I loved it so much.

My friend Ashe Rogue has also always loved cosplay and she suggested I try and helped me with all my first costumes and many after to help me get into cosplay. She's the reason I started, Harley is the reason I really enjoyed it and it lets me enjoy life a little more than normal every day life.

2: How long have you been doing cosplay?

Manda Cowled: I started cosplaying last August 2013 at Fan Expo.

3: Do you go to a lot of conventions? If so which has been your favorite and why?

Manda Cowled: As I've been cosplaying for less than a year, I've gone to a few, I would say NFCC, Ottawa Comic Con and Fan Expo have been my absolute favourites for the stars and panels, but I also love QMC! It's in my home town and is a ton of fun.

4: Are you a fan of anyone else who cosplays? If so do you have a favorite and who is it and why?

Manda Cowled: I really like the cosplayer Enji Night, I've actually been following her work since before I really understood cosplay. I am also a big fan of Ya Ya Han, she's just so talented.

5: Would you do this for the rest of your life?

Manda Cowled: Yes, I already have family cosplay groups planned out in my head. Scary right! Also I have some old lady cosplays I will one day do.

6: Do you consider yourself to be famous? If not would you love to be famous someday?

Manda Cowled: I'd love to be famous, but no, I have some fans, but I am but a spec in the cosplay universe.

7: Besides cosplay do you do anything else?

Manda Cowled: I like comic books, gaming, love RPGs but haven't played in a while.

8: Have you met any interesting or famous people doing cosplay?

Manda Cowled: I've met some great friends, but no famous cosplayers, at least not in a sense where I know them at all.

9: What advice can you give to someone who wants to get into cosplay?

Manda Cowled: Do what you can, and do a character you love. Doesn't matter if you look like them or they are crazy popular or no one knows them, you cosplay for yourself. I hate when people say Harley is over cosplayed, well duh, people love her, same with Batman. Let people cosplay the characters they love.

10: Do you make all the costumes yourself? If so how long does it normally take you to make one costume?

Manda Cowled: Ashe Rogue made many (all) of my first costumes, I've started working on more and trying to learn how to make them. Many, like Velma and Black Cat, are just put together with peices I find on eBay and Value Village, others like Raven are some sewing, and my favs are Harley and M'gann for the fun face paint.

11: What is your favorite thing about doing cosplay?

Manda Cowled: Having fun, playing pretend, even for just a day, seeing what you look like as different characters.

12: Which character in any comic book or tv show would you date and why?

Manda Cowled: I have a huge crush on Ollie from Smallville, I actually wish I was Chloe! Hahahaha.

13: Do you have a favorite character you've cosplayed as? If so who and why?

Manda Cowled: Yes and No. Picking favourites is hard, cause they are all mine... but I recently really enjoy the ease of Videl and Velma, had a blast as Chewy and my long time love is Harley.

Can't wait to show you guys some new costumes that will hopefully become favourites as well.

14: What are some of the characters you've cosplayed as?

Manda Cowled: Harley Quinn (multiple versions), Power Girl. Black Cat, Velma, Videl, Chewbacca, Captain Hammer, Eevee, Charmander, Rainbow Dash, M'gann, Raven.... not sure if I am missing some, I have 5 new ones I am working on right now :P

15: Where can people find you on the internet?

Manda Cowled: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MandaCowled/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/MandaCowled Instagram: http://instagram.com/mandacowled Tumblr: https://www.tumblr.com/blog/mandacowled Print Shop: http://mandacowled.storenvy.com or my group The Geekettes: https://www.facebook.com/TheGeekettes https://www.youtube.com/1UPTheGeekettes http://www.thegeekettes.com Cheers!

Review: American Vampire #1

So in this issue we meet two actresses who act like they're in high school... not even joking. So we find out that they live together and... oh jeez... I'm sure they have some fun nights ;). Anyways we also get to meet a creep.. litterly he stays in the same place all the time watching both actresses go home... hold on dude I'll get you a camera so you can record them undressing. Anyways one of the girls gets invited to a party and something goes terribly wrong... ya won't tell you go read it for yourself. Anyways we find out how the creep turned into a vampire. Basically he rode a train with no other people on it I guess. Something goes terribly wrong as he escapes... there you guys go two cliffhangers. Artwork was pretty good. I give this issue a 10 out of 10.

Review: NCD #5 ( Western Arc 2014 )

So in this arc Jonah Hex is after Eric... I wonder what Eric did to tick him off? So anyways it skips ahead six months with them in the wild west with Eric as the sheriff.... guys I don't think this'll end well, I mean his all sorts of crazy.. you guys really trust him to be the sheriff? So anyways some guy comes into town wanting a showdown with the sheriff who is sleeping.... see guys what'd I tell you don't trust him. We also get to see Minion making bets on who will win, this little furry guy is probably one of my favorites at the moment... I mean I'd bet with him. So Eric finally wakes up.. dude you slept your town might be burnt down or have a few dead bodies. So Eric finally goes up against this mysterious person. This arc ends with a very, very weird ending. Artwork was really good I give this arc a 9 out of 10 cause well the sheriff slept.. though since it was his birthday then I guess he deserved it but still.

Review: Ultimate Comics ( X-Men Reservation X #20 )

So in this issue we get to see what they're finding about the land. They find out that well... it's pretty much a shit place for them to live... great going Kitty. Anyways it continues with some guy feeding plants making them mutate and Kitty just wants to give them away... Kitty I don't think that'll go over well with the idiots who aren't mutants. So iron man comes to help defend them from people who'd be coming for the plants... see Kitty I told you but no you didn't want to listen. The ending to this kinda ticked me off. Match two points a gun at Kittys head, which Kitty wouldn't even have to worry about cause she could just phase and the bullet wouldn't even hit her but she says that which makes match two point the gun at Jimmy... hold on from what I've seen he's like wolverin so how the fuck would the bullet hurt him?... or is he totally different to where it'd kill him? Anyways so the story ends with a bang. As for the artwork it was good just good. I'll give this issue a 7 out of 10 cause that ending pissed me off.

Review: The Terminator ( Enemy Of My Enemy #1 )

So this issue starts off with some guy talking to our main character at a graveyard... that must mean there will be death through out this series. So anyways turns out it wasn't the main character it was someone else pretending to be her... hold on, how did he even fall for that? Like was she gone so long that he forgot what she sounds like?.... I'm gonna guess he's really stupid cause he falls for it and gets taken to her place for an interrogation.... man what an idiot. Then we get to meet the terminator. Which I was excited for cause they are bad ass. Apparently he jumps to the time of the first movie or maybe I'm wrong but either way there's no Kyle Reese to stop it.... well everyone is fucked.... say goodbye everyone Kyle Reese decided he didn't want to travel back in time so blame him. Anyways back to the story, so our main character goes after someone to get more info but she encounters the terminator and something bad happens. You'll have to get the issue for yourself to find out what it is. Artwork for this issue was ok. I give this issue a 8 out of 10 cause Kyle Reese doomed us all.

Review: Realm Of Dreams #1 Don't Let The Bed Bugs Bite

So I just got done reading this and well.. very suspenseful. It definitely hooks the reader at the end. At first you're like wtf. No Ray don't go down the path something bad is gonna happen... what why'd you go down it now you gonna die. But the next part was like see I told you something bad would happen now you got a spider trying to eat you... run Ray don't jump... oh now you run. It ends in a very suspenseful way so I'm definitely hooked and can't wait to read more... hopefully Ray will actually listen to me when I yell at my phone while reading it. I give this issue a 10 out of 10.

Review: Revenge #1

So this was a pretty gory book at the beginning. We get introduced to the actor Frank Griffins I think. I'm sure I probably got that wrong. But anyways we get introduced to him and his hot smoking wife ;). Basically Frank decides to get a new face. Hold on guys the Texas Chainsaw Massacre has already been made... wait you mean he's not a hillbilly running around with a chainsaw wearing peoples faces over his? Ok sorry about that guys. Anyways he goes clear to Mexico to get a new face... really dude? But wait something goes horribly wrong as he gets his new face. Sorry can't spoil it go get this issue to see for yourself. As for the artwork it was terrific. This issue gets a 10 out of 10.

Interview #20: With Collectors

So last month I did an interview with the webcomic collectors well the guy who writes them. Anyways make sure to check out all their links.

1: What got you into comics?

Collectors: As a little kid, Spider-Man was my gateway drug. Ever since I remember earning an allowance, my nose was buried in comic books. That led to collecting, which slowly took over part of my life!

2: What made you decide to start up a webcomic series?

Collectors: I had the idea for a while and originally conceived it as a TV sit-com. I first wrote a pilot episode and then half a film script based on the idea, but that wasn’t enough for me because I wanted to see this vision I had moving forward. That’s where the comic strip idea came from, but I sat on it for some time because I’m not really an artist and the thought of trying to find someone to draw my gags seemed daunting. The thing that lit a fire under me to do it all myself was going to comic conventions and envying the professionals interacting with fans. Like all would-be creators, I thought about how awesome it would feel to be on the other side of that table sharing my work with people. That was enough to get me to try my hand at illustrating the strip and it turned out that I wasn’t too bad and I’ve been improving over time.

Since then,

3: How long has Collectors been around?

Collectors: I’ve been publishing the strip online at www.collectorscomic.com every Sunday for a over two years. Last year I self-published Collectors King-Size Annual #1 thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign. The annual is a 48 page comic that collects all the strips from 2012 along with new material not available on the website. I’m currently working on 80 Page Giant Collectors #2, which will be available soon.

4: Do you guys go to a lot of conventions? If so which is your favorite and why?

Collectors: So far I’ve only done two conventions to promote my work, WonderCon and Long Beach Comic Con. Both shows were very rewarding and I’ll be doing more in the near future. My wife and I attend several cons in the California area and it’s hard to pick a favorite. I love them all.

5: What is the best part about making this webcomic series?

Collectors: Making people laugh and being told how much they enjoy my comic strip is a great part of what I do. Another perk is getting free professional badges to conventions. I won’t lie, that part is pretty sweet.

6: Would you do this for the rest of your life?

Collectors: Without a doubt. No question.

7: How do you guys normally come up with the ideas for each strip?

Collectors: My ideas for strips usually come from everyday life. Being married, hanging out at the comic shop, on the job, etc. The material and humor is all there if you look and listen.

8: What is your favorite strip or strips that you've made and why are they your favorite?

Collectors: My favorite strip is the one I did for an interview I did on Stan Lee’s website. I was asked if I would do one with a Stan Lee cameo, so Stan is in the strip and my wife and I encounter him at a convention with some disasterous results.

9: Do you consider yourself famous if not would you love to be famous someday?

Collectors: I’m far from famous, but I’ve been recognized at a convention a couple of times. It’s more important to me to be able to sustain a career doing a creative endeavor like this so that it would allow me to live without needing a day job. If a certain level of fame comes with that, I won’t say no to it.

10: What advice can you give to anyone who wants to start up their own webcomic?

Collectors: Find your voice. Don’t just emulate what other people are doing or what you think sells. Find what’s unique about you and put it in your work.

11: Do you have a favorite comic series if so which one and why?

Collectors: I’ve been a Spider-Man fan since a child. I’ve followed and collected the character as long as I can remember and I own every issue of Amazing Spider-Man.

12: If you could be in any comic book series which would you be in and why?

Collectors: It would be fun to be in an issue of The Walking Dead and get ripped apart and eaten by a hoard of zombies.

13: Have you met any famous people doing this webcomic?

Collectors: Stan Lee. ‘Nuff said, true believers!!!

14: Where can people find you on the internet?

Collectors: You can find the comic strip at www.collectorscomic.com. I publish a new strip every Sunday morning and you can also shop for various Collectors merchandise there. You’ll also find Collectors on Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr.

Review: Ultimate Comics ( X-Men Reservation X #19 )

So this issue was kind of interesting the 20 mutants who are left get some land which basically is horrible land... geez even the government in comics is shady and rude. We also get to see that some of the mutants don't like each other. Well if they don't like the others and the land so much then they should go back into the world where people hate them which sounds worse but if that's what they want then... hey don't stop them. We also find out that someone is stalking the mutants... hold on do you hate them or do you have an obsession with them so you pretend to hate them? Cause if that's the case well you really need some mental help. As for the artwork it was way better than last issues artwork. I give this issue a 9 out of 10.

Review: Lazarus #1

So this issue was actually pretty good. Reminded me of the matrix. If you read it you'll understand. So we get introduced to our main character who is a bad ass chick... not even joking she gets shot and is still able to get up and kick some major ass. We also get introduced to some other guy who seems pretty creepy I mean even just seeing him drawn is like yep he's bad news and creepy. So murder happens and they find out how it all went down. If you want to know how everything went down go pick up this issue for yourself. The artwork was good kinda average. I give this issue a 10 out of 10.

Review: Lock And Key #1 ( Welcome To Lovecraft )

So this issue was pretty good. We get to see a murder and depressed people. The artwork was pretty good. We get to see that the people who survived the murder get to move in with an uncle of theirs and that his house is pretty big. Of course when they get there they all go their separate ways and explore the place. The youngest kid finds a key and a door. When he opens the door something bad happens. Go pick this issue up and find out what I mean. I give this issue a 10 out of 10.

Interview #19: With Avigaming

So a few months ago I did an interview with the amazingly beautiful Avigaming. She's pretty awesome you should definitely read the interview and then check out all her links. She deserves it :).

1: What got you into gaming?

Avigaming: My older brother used to make me play games with him since it was just us two kids in the family. At first I wasn't much of a fan, but overtime I found myself really enjoying some of the games. After years of playing my brothers consoles and games I finally started to beg my Mother for my own console. I can't remember the exact year, but I was probably around 7 years old, that Christmas I finally got my very own N64. That was when my gaming addiction truly started.

2: What made you decide to start up a YouTube channel?

Avigaming: Around 2004 I installed an internal capture card into my computer and I started making a lot of really pointless and random Halo 2 videos. I found a lot of enjoyment in making stupid videos and sharing them with my friends. I watched so many videos of people on YouTube doing the same thing just on a much bigger scale. Sharing their videos, their personalities, and their enjoyment with the world. For so long I wanted to start my own channel, but I just didn't know how to get into it. I didn't have the equipment or the knowledge of what it took to make a quality channel. My only true regret with YouTube is that it took me so long to finally dive in. It wasn't until July of 2011 when I finally made my YouTube channel "AviGaming."

3: What is your favorite thing about making these gaming videos on YouTube?

Avigaming: Seeing the reactions in the comments, the likes, the views, just the overall interaction with people online. I love seeing the little community within my channel grow. Seeing the loyal people in my fan base becoming friends with others within it. It's a really cool feeling seeing all that. It's surreal sometimes just how many people watch my videos. It often blows my mind just looking at my subscriber count and lifetime views. Being a girl on the internet and even more so, being a girl who plays video games on the internet, I just expected a lot more hateful comments. I do sometimes receive very sexist and disgusting comments, but not as much as I thought I would. I am truly thankful for all the support I have been given from my viewers, my favorite thing is them.

4: Is there anything else you'd like to do with your channel in the future?

Avigaming: I'd love to expand it! Posting more content more often and better quality content as well. Maybe some exclusive stuff, maybe interviews with gaming industry people. I really would love to do collabs with bigger YouTubers as well. I'd like to bring my voice acting somehow into my channel, maybe my own animated series or something. There are endless ideas and possibilities for YouTube channels. It's such an open platform for people you can really take it anyway you can imagine. I guess we will see what comes to fruition!

5: Do you plan on doing this for the rest of your life?

Avigaming: I don't think YouTube will forever be as big as it is now. So realistically, I do not think this is a lifelong career path for me. However, I do hope it lasts for a long time. The adult in me has thought about the future of YouTube and I am prepared to take my career in another path if the time comes.

6: Do you do anything else besides making gaming videos on YouTube?

Avigaming: I am assuming you mean career wise and yes, I do! I am getting my foot in the door in the voice acting world. I have taken on ten plus projects in the last six months and I am also taking voice over coaching lessons from a wonderfully talented voice over artist/coach. I am also finishing up school.

7: Have you met any friends doing this?

Avigaming: Yes, I have met a lot of really cool people! Some are loyal viewers I've had since the start and some are fellow YouTubers such as LaurenzSide and Johnny Nacis.

8: Do you consider yourself famous? If not would you love to be famous someday?

Avigaming: I get called famous quite often and I always deny that. My real life friends even joke about it sometimes. I do believe that some YouTubers are famous, but I still consider myself a small fish in a giant ocean. Being famous isn't why I do YouTube and honestly part of me is kind of scared to ever be famous. When you are in that kind of spotlight you get a lot of unwanted attention. If the time ever comes and I am actually considerably well known then it will be an interesting experience I'm sure.

9: What character in any game would you date and why?

Avigaming: Kaidan Alenko from Mass Effect. He is basically the perfect man in almost all ways and I feel no shame admitting that. The brilliant way Mass Effect's story is told really made me love that character along with the majority of the other characters. Plus, he's got some nice pixels if I do say so myself.

10: Have you met anyone famous or interesting making videos?

Avigaming: I haven't met them in person, but yes, I've spoken to a lot of really amazing people because of YouTube. Not only people, but also company's have noticed me because of my channel. I feel very thankful for that!

11: What is your gamer score?

Avigaming: Last time I checked it was around 43,000. *flexes*

12: Do you have any advice for someone that wants to start up a YouTube channel doing gaming?

Avigaming: I would tell them to look at other channels of people posting the kind of content they wish to post. Then learn from them, see the kinds of things they do. You shouldn't copy anyone, you need your own special thing to attract people. It's just a good way to get started. Then you need the appropriate equipment and a lot of dedication! Good luck!

13: Where can people find you on the internet?

Avigaming: I am all over the interwebs! Here is a list of my links: YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/AviGaming Twitter: https://twitter.com/Avi_Gaming Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/AviGaming Personal Website: http://www.sarasecora.com
