Review: The Dark & Bloody #1

This issue opens up with our main character throwing a sack full of puppies into a swamp. Already one thing I hste in this book. Like ehy couldn't the dad just say let them live out in the wild. Also note to any parent never tell your kid to go kill animals. Next we see that our main character was in the army and liked to draw crosses next to dead bodies so that they'd have godx mercy. I don't know if that'll really work Iris since a lot of mormons make it seem like god could care less about gays, transgender, and suicidal which is stupid because if he loves everyone then he should love them no matter what path they choose. And for the mormons that are ass hats to gays and all those other people all I have to say is stop sticking your head up your ass and grow up! After Iris served in the war we see that he moved back to the swamps snd sells moonshine to people. I hear that stuffs really good. I'm sure my ex friend would probably just drink all the moonshine instead of sell it since he loves being drunk every day of his life. Next we see the guys who bought moonshine from Iris drink and drive right into a tree where a giant bird like creature attacks them. Obviously those guys weren't tree huggers or they'd know that if you crash into a birds tree that it'll kill you and feed you to it's children. We see the police questions Iris about what happened to those two men. Well you see they drove drunk, then they decide to ram so poor birds tree and got killed by it and fed to it's babies. Hope you all take notes and don't pull this shit at home. This issue ends with us meeting some chick and a guy with a possum. Artwork was pretty good. Story wise pretty good definitely didn't like the start though. I give this issue a 9 out of 10. Note to self never live out in the swamps. Things I learned from this issue. Don't drive drunk and ram into some poor birds tree or it'll kill you and feed you to it's babies... don't believe me? Well read this issue and then you'll believe me :).

Review: Red Thorn #3

This issue opens up with some guy telling a story about an enormous serpent. I hate any kind of serpent. We meet a new character named Tarek. Next we see Isla wake up with a hangover and next to a sleeping giant. Don't you hate when you drink one night and wake up the next morning to a giant. Shit why do I keep making friends with weird creatures whenever I get drunk? Next we see Isla walk in on Thorn with a bunch of naked women and men in his bed. I've heard having orgys are fun though I don't plan on ever having one. We see Thorn assign some guards to Isla. Next we see Thorn fight giant creature with lots of legs. Note to self never get in a fight with Thorn cause he can kick your ass and kill you. We see Isla go to glasgow where she sees Alec with a woman that she drew for him to be the new her. Wait if she's supposed to be you but has blue hair instead of red how does he not notice that she's not you or did he move one once you left and she came into his life? This is very confusing. Next we meet another new character named Loch Ness. She's pretty. I also love how pretty her eyes are. I'm guessing she's ok with Thorn having sex with a bunch of people cause I'm sure they just had sex. This issue ends with Thorn sticking his hand in the lake that Loch Ness came out of and grabbing Tareks hand when he sticks his hand in a well. Artwork was pretty good. Story wise pretty good. I give this issue a 10 out of 10. So why'd he grab Tareks arm? Things I learned from this issue. Isla can out drink a giant. I wonder how much acohal that'd be since I'm sure giants have larger stomachs and could probably drink more... like how'd she not die or get acohal poisoning?

Review: Snow Fall #1

This issue opens up with it snowing in some town and gaurds getting upset over it and looking for whoever is making it snow. I  don't understand why they're looking for the person. Like what's wrong with snow. We learn how our climate got fucked up so now it doesn't snow anymore. I think everyone who thinks that global warming exist is wrong. I just think the earth works in mysterious ways and we don't fully understand how it works so we blame stupid stuff on the human race. Of course I could be wrong and we could be screwed in the future like the world is in thiss comic. We meet some guy named Anthony Farrow who seems eager to get out of the class that he's in to. I don't blame him just reading that professors speech almost put me to sleep. Late on we meet someone called the inspector who's at the town that got hit with snow and mentions someone called the White Wizard. Wasn't that Gandalfs nickname in the second lord of the rings movie. If so Maybe they should just call him the snow wizard or something so thry don't gey in trouble unless that name has been taken to. But I still don't see why they're so upset about him making snow. Like hell if there's hardly any water left then you can melt all that snow and make more water for the world. But hey if thag doesn't work for you guys then go ahead and die of dehydration. Next we see Anthony Farrow go to some guys house where he pretty much acts like a stalker and lets the guy know that he knows who he is. We learn this guys name is August Reasons, Dr. Reasons or the White Wizard. He's got to many names. Next we see Anthony Farrow hooked up to some tubes while Dr. Reasons talks to him and watches stuff on the tv. Don't you hate when you stalk someone and they decide to knock you out, take you down to their basement and hook tubes up to your head so they can read your thoughts? Ya me to that's why I stopped stalking people. This issue ends with us seeing the aftermath of when Anthony Farrow left his class and when that town got hit with snow. Artwork was pretty good. Story wise pretty good well except for that speech. I give this issue a 9 out of 10. I wish I could make it snow whenever I wanted. Better yet I'd rather just have the power to make it rain whenever I wanted so I could collect the rain and drink it after I had collected it. Things I learned from this issue. Never stalk people. I mean unless you like being knocked out and taken into their basement.

Interview #30 With Dan Sehn

So I few months back I did an Interview with the creator of Argo 5. Hope you guys enjoy and check out his stuff.

1: What or who got you into comics and why?

Dan Sehn: I have been reading comics before I can remember (or rather looking at them prior to being able to read, lol). I have to imagine my dad bought them for me and saw that I liked them. Watching re-runs of the George Reeves Superman and Adam West Batman TV shows reinforced my interests in the comics.

2: What made you decide to start writing Argo 5?

Dan Sehn: I had been creating my own characters since grade school (those characters became my golden age team the Freedom Troop that appeared in Argo Comics anthology #5). Argo 5 had a few drafts through high school and college (with the characters who got phased out of the team becoming the Paladins who were introduced in Argo Comics Anthology #2). Although I enjoy publishing all these diverse characters, Argo 5 was the concept I was always drawn to write and focus on in their own series.

3: How long has Argo 5 been around?

Dan Sehn: Argo 5 first appeared in the Argo Comics Pin-Up special in 2005 with the Argo Comics Anthology debuting in 2008. Argo 5 #1 was published in 2009.

4: How often does it take you come up with ideas for Argo 5? Do you already have the story mapped out?

Dan Sehn: My focus for Argo 5, and Argo Comics in general,  has always been to come up with quality stories that are different from those in publication elsewhere. Although I have enjoyed a lifelong fandom of comics, I had no desire to tribute my favorite stories or characters. Sometimes driving towards originality can be challenging so ideas are not so easy to come by but as the characters developed, they seem to generate storylines all on their own after a while. Argo 5 issue 20 is our next issue with issue 31 already in production so we are mapped out at least to that point.

5: What is your favorite thing about writing this series?

Dan Sehn: Again, most likely it is in figuring out a cool original concept and executing it. Nothing beats the joy of getting that new issue from the printer though.

6: Do you have a favorite issue that you've written if so which one and why?

Dan Sehn: There is a special place in my heart for issue 1 as I did the art but I enjoyed issue 0 as a way to go back and start the series right with more experience under my belt. Issue 0 is the best introduction for a new reader. Story wise, I can't really choose as I try to diversify the stories so it becomes a bit of an apples and oranges situation at times. Diversifying the themes and genres makes it difficult to give an "elevator pitch" to the series but it keeps the readers on their toes.

7: How many issues of Argo 5 are out?

Dan Sehn: There are 19 issues available.

8: Do you write any other series besides Argo 5?

Dan Sehn: Sorority of Power is up to issue 9 with issue 10 in the lettering phase. The Argo Comics Anthology is a completed 6 issue mini-series giving an introduction to the other heroes of the Argo Comics Universe.

9: Do you plan on writing this series for a good long while?

Dan Sehn: Yes, as stated issue 31 is in production and we are starting up on issue 32.

10: Do you have a favorite character if so who and why?

Dan Sehn: I don't want to use the "choosing between my children" cliche but it is a situation similar to that.

11: What advice could you give to someone who wants to start writing their own comic?

Dan Sehn: I would say to strive for originality. I would not go the route of "It's like Comic A meets Comic B" or having characters that can be describes as "He is my version of Superhero C". Those comics are already out there and people are more likely to buy them rather than yours as they are already established. Pave your own way.

12: If you could date any comic book character who would you date and why?

Dan Sehn: Not sure but it would have to be a heroine rather than a villain. You don't want a team of heroes crashing through the wall of your secret lair.

13: Where can people find you on the internet?

Dan Sehn: The books are available at: http://www.indyplanet.us/brands/argocomics/

Review: Cry Havoc #1

This issue opens up with our main character in a cage. Well that's a very good opening cause now I want to know how she got in that cage. We get to see that our main character eorks at a zoo and that she has a girlfriend. I know a lot of people will stop reading after hearing that but hey if gays offend you so much it must mean you're secretly one and are afraid of your mormon parents or friends finding out. We find out that our characters name is Louise Canton or Lou for short. Anyways her and her girlfriend have a talk about a hyena. Next we see our main character in a chopper with a bunch of soldiers and other characters who share something special with her. I have the feeling that this book is gonna jump around a lot. Cause it already seems like it's going present time, past, past. We see that Lou used to play her violin next to a law building. We see her chase after some change that a judge threw in an ally way or something where a big blue werewolf attacks her. I'm guessing all the other people got attacked by some sort of animal to since they all seem to have special abilities. I love how Lou says she thinks she got mugged by a werewolf. I can see it now. Oh hi there doggy... shit you're a  werewolf. Here take my money and knock me out I don't want any problems. Note to self avoid wolves or any kinda dog cause chances are they'll mug you of all your money and leave you with powers. We go back to the chopper where we see it land and learn that there's another werewolf chick like Lou who went rouge. Or maybe she can't control what she does when she becomes a werewolf. Ever stop to think about that? Nope didn't think so. We see Lou sniff the rouges clothes which gives us a flashback to when she played her violin at some bar and got fired by the band for playing a different song that a lot of people seemed to like. This issue ends with us seeing who's holding Lou captive in the cage. Artwork was pretty good. Story wise pretty good. I give this issue a 10 out of 10. I'm interested to see what happens next :). Things I learned from this issue. Werewolves are now able to mug people so be on the lookout for werewolves and if one does try to mug you make sure you have a gun with silver bullets in it so you can kill it before it mugs you. I mean unless you want it to mug you and give you special powers.

Review: Harley Quinn & Power Girl #4

This issue opens up with Power Girl and Vartox fighting. Aww how cute they fight like an old married couple. Next we see Harley Quinn save Power Girl by riding something called a Caticorn and using it to free Vartox from the mind control he's under. Note to self if a friend or loved one is ever under mind control just get a Caticorn and have it pur. If you don't have a Caticorn I guess try using you cat to see if it works. After his mind control is broken we learn how him and Power Girl met and how they repopulated by using something called a pregnoray. Hey girl you wanna go home and use my pregnoray so we can repopulate ;). We see that all of Vartoxs ex girlfriends are ok... um who the heck just dumped a bunch of shit near us. Oh that's just Cherub. I mean how did none of them get an overwhelming smell of shit when he came walking out of the bushes. Like I'm sure all the shit and stuff in that toilet and bathroom went flying out with him which probably means he got it all over him once it blew up. Phew good thing the ex girlfriend force left didn't think I'd be able to take that shit smell any longer. Next we see Harley Quinn, Power Girl and Vartox fight Oreth Odeox and a bunch of nuns. I'm surprised the nuns aren't fighting with crosses and scripture verses. Don't you hate when you shoot your enemy and make all their clothes evaporate giving you an eye full. We see Power Girl knock Oreth Odeox out while he's districted by a naked Vartox. This issue ends with something big in the sky hanging over our heros. Artwork was pretty good. Story wise pretty good. I give this issue a 10 out of 10. So what's that big thing in the sky? Things I learned from this issue. A Caticorns pur can stop mind control. I don't know if a regular cats pur would work though. I think if I were under some sort of mind control and the beautiful Harley Quinn stood in front of me that I'd probably snap out of it right then snd there.

Review: Black Magick #4

This issue opens up with Rowan and her partner looking at the dead body of Bruce Dunridge and finding out what was inside him. Note to self don't eat before you read this issue or you might throw up reading the first page if you have a weak stomach. Also what he had in his stomach looks like green beans or the magical beans that jack had in his story where he climbed the bean stock and met the giant... wait was someone trying to make a bean stock out of this guy so they could climb it and meet a giant? After looking at the dead body Rowan goes to give Alex the lighter that she stole from evidence. Note to self never steal evidence even if it's for a good cause because chances are something bad will happen. Next we see one of the new people that we met last issue... eww I did not to see that. We also see Rowan and her partner talk to the people whose daughter got raped and murdered by Bruce Dunridge. No they definitely couldn't kill him off even though they'd have every right to. Next we see Alex performing a ritual. What is she doing? This issue ends with some old lady attacking Alex. Artwork was pretty good. Story wise pretty good. I give this issue a 10 out of 10. So who was that old lady that came out of the water Alex used in her ritual? Things I learned from this issue. Don't feed someone glowing green beans cause chances are they're poisoned with radiation or something... I mean unless there are glowing green beans out there?
